Creating an immersive environment in your classes is an effective strategy for children to immerse themselves in English and use it in a way Natural and Constant. In the name of Great Little People, we want to share with you five practical tips to help you create an immersive English environment in the classroom with children and thus promote language acquisition in a significant way.

1. Use English consistently

Speak in English all the time that you are in the classroom, from the morning greeting to the farewell at the end of the day. Use simple and clear instructions in English for daily activities and make sure that children understand what is expected of them. It models the correct use of the language and encourages children to also communicate in English.

2. Create a visual environment in English

To encourage language immersion in your classes, label objects and areas in the classroom with words in English. Create themed murals with English vocabulary that children can observe and consult. Use posters, cards and visual material with images and words in English to reinforce vocabulary and grammatical structures.
